Give a little bit...

Came across a fun new ad from Coca Cola today; they trolled through a global stock footage to showcase GOOD acts of humanity captured on security cameras.

I found the video while reading a blog post on Forbes. The writer took this interesting thought from the video - wouldn't it be great if corporations that hold so much money, and so much power, were able to focus their energy and power on good causes rather than just on marketing stuff?

Of course, that's the essence of business, right? We talked about that a lot this morning in the office in regards to the "debate" on climate change science and the outright sabotaging of climate scientists' careers. The more schooling I get, the more I learn that people are smart enough to figure out answers to problems, that we know HOW to make renewable energy and clean water, but can't seem to figure out how to make it happen.  Annoying and frustrating at times.

But there are solutions. And smart people thinking about it.  A friend of mine was a finalist in a recent competition in San Francisco that challenged groups to come up with ways to make companies more human and more social.
